Landmark Forestry LLC is a forest-consulting firm with two offices in West Virginia. Our parent office is located near the town of Weston, WV. It is here that Landmark Forestry LLC began in 1992 as a single person firm working primarily with non-industrial private landowners. Since that time, Landmark Forestry LLC has expanded its operations to include Contractual Forest Management, Acquisition Inventories, GIS and GPS integrated applications, Commercial and Rural Land Appraisals, Aerial Photography, and many other activities. With this expansion has come the need for an office in Petersburg, WV. From these locations, Landmark Forestry LLC serves a broad array of clients ranging from non-industrial private landowners to many corporate clients along the east coast. Landmark Forestry LLC prides itself in professional, accurate, and timely work that is overseen by a work ethic of the highest standards. After four years of apprenticeship, the West Virginia Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board has approved Mark Sturgill to receive a Certified General Appraisal License. To obtain this license, over 3,000 hours of experience was required as well as the completion of over 180 hours of qualified appraisal education and a state exam.
During his four-year apprenticeship, Mark worked with Thomas H. Lantz, Sr. of Petersburg, Stephen A. Holmes of Buckhannon, Linda K. York of Morgantown and Larry Puccio of Fairmont. All four supervisors are Certified General Appraisers. His experience includes timberland appraisals, conservation easement appraisals, eminent domain appraisals, residential appraisals as well as numerous types of commercial property appraisals.
